(More customer reviews)I have known Dr. Aguinis's works from a large number of citations found in the leading publications, such as Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Journal of International Business Studies, etc. During my practice and academc research in international marketing for Taiwan's technology industry, I found Dr. Aguinis's work is one of the most practical, concise, and heuristic reference. The citations in this book is conprensive and detail enough for academic publication. Exploring, interpretation, and research designing of interactions between categorical variables have been done for past decades. However, Aguinis's insightful and revolutionary research has provided a comprehensive landmark for the art of interactions between continuous variables since Aiken and West(1991) and Cohen (2003). Interestly, it is a remarkedly guiding star in the "minefield" and "fishing expedition" in the research and practice for international business and psychology studies. Some fundamental asioms which are frequently ignored and violated by researchers and practitioners are pretty heurisc as an abecedarian for newcomers and even veteran academicians.
The quotations in the beginning of each chapter of Regression Analysis for Categorical Moderators. I read it from cover to cover.
Indeed, Dr. Aguinis has made the term, "moderator," into a beautiful thing.
"There is no statistical technique that can substitute for good thinking."
"No research design or dara analysis considerations will be able to compensate for the lack of good logic and theory."
Besides, this concise volume provides a detailed citations and conprehensive name index, which also made this book very suitable for academic authors.

Have you ever wondered if birth order effects vary across ethnic groups, or whether a particular clinical intervention is likely to yield dissimilar outcomes for men and women? This book provides practical guidance for using a statistical tool known as moderated multiple regression (MMR) to assess whether the relationship between two quantitative variables is moderated by group membership. Included are discussions and fully worked-out examples of how to conduct and interpret MMR analysis, as well as descriptions of computer programs that can be used to check the accuracy of results. Assuming only a basic knowledge of inferential statistics on the part of the reader, this is an essential hands-on guide for students, researchers, and practitioners. Together with its associated computer programs and data sets (available on the Web), the book will also serve as an invaluable supplemental text in advanced undergraduate statistics and methods courses and in graduate courses addressing the general linear model.
